How to Use Olaplex No.3 for Stronger, Softer Hair

Olaplex No.3 Hair Perfector® is a take-home treatment—not a conditioner—that helps support the hair’s bonds after lightening, heat, and chemical stress. Used correctly, it improves softness and manageability between salon visits.

Start clean, not coated

Shampoo first (a gentle cleanse is fine) so the product reaches the hair fiber. No.3 isn’t meant to sit on top of dry shampoo, oils, or heavy silicones.

Apply generously from roots to ends

Fine hair may need less product; thick or curly hair may need more. Work in sections so every strand is saturated. If your hair drinks it in immediately, add a bit more.

Time matters

Most guests see best results at 10–20 minutes. Very compromised hair may benefit from longer under your stylist’s recommendation—but more isn’t always better for everyone, so ask us if you’re unsure.

Rinse, then condition

Follow with your conditioner or mask. No.3 preps the canvas; your conditioner seals and detangles.

Frequency

Many guests use No.3 weekly; color-treated or heat-styled hair may use it up to two to three times weekly for a limited period. We’ll personalize a schedule so you don’t throw off moisture/protein balance.
